Connecting the depth of our physical being to the spirit.

This workshop aims to deepen the work from the December workshop. It can also be attended independently.

Or concentrate the vital force into the intuitive mind and upper glandular system.

This is a deep cultivation of the Jing 精, or essence, of our physical being through the kidneys.

We will practice Do Yin, a series of floor exercises that fuse our Heart/Fire and Kidney/Water elements to open the Kidney Fire at the Ming Men 命 門 or Gate of Life acupuncture point to relax, and strengthen the spoas muscle, also called ’Soul Muscle.’ The psoa is key to spinal health and fluid alignment.

We will learn to store energy in the Lower Tan Tien, the container of Water energy, to relate to the sustainability of our being through our Will Power, nourishing a constant mind.

Meditation will lead us to explore the depth of water energy and its mirror-like clarity.

We will also explore movement through the physical/emotional/energetic modalities of our being, guided by the associations that the dynamic agent of water offers in the Chinese Five Element Theory, as an intimate experience.

NEW MOON / WINTER EQUINOXE, Cultivating 精 JING Dec 19-21

This workshop is designed to tap into the most Yin time of the year, when the perfect conditions exist to recharge our Jing energy, the essence of our physical body located in the kidneys, bladder, sexual organs, and bones. When our 精 JING energy is balanced, we feel we have the power to accomplish what we need to do, our sense of trust is stable, and it allows us to meet difficulties with persistence in a flexible way.

The practice will include:

  • A combination of qigong postures and movement forms to access, develop, and circulate kidney, bladder, and sexual energy.

  • Theoretical and experiential guidance to develop your own intuitive understanding of the Water dybamic agent within and without.

  • Sitting contemplative practices

REGISTRATION:

The suggested donation is between $220 and $350.

New Moon Contemplation (online)

Weekly 2 sessions package — online

These are a series of meditation sessions aligned with the new moon cycles. It is said that the new moon is a good time to reset our motivation and cultivate it daily during the waxing moon. These sessions offer contemplative guidance to help individuals access the immediacy of the mind at rest. These sitting sessions include simple perceptive instructions and the contemplation of Taoist and Buddhist texts.

In this class, Daria will provide simple guidance on opening to an awakened state of rest, drawing on simple sitting contemplative practices from the Taoist and Buddhist traditions.

When our mind/heart is resting, whatever occurs becomes part of the all-encompassing space within which all is subsumed. There is no need to accept or reject what arises within, nor is there any need to achieve anything by trying.

A new cycle of weekly classes begins September 16, 2025: (in person and online)

This cycle of 13 classes will focus on the transition from the element of Earth into Metal.

LOCATION: 115 Wooster St # 2F Soho, NY - All classes are also online via Zoom. Tues and Thurs 10 am - 12 pm.

Sept: 16 and 18  

Oct: 2, 7,  9, 14, 16, 15, 21, 23, 28, and 30

Note that I prefer payment via Venmo (@racheldaria-fain-1) or use Zelle at 718-450-1356. Alternatively, click the link below for credit card or convenience payment options.

Single class: $25

12 classes: Tier 1: $255 — Tier 2: $240 — Tier 3: $228

Payments are structured with options that reflect how income is distributed: 

  • Tier 1 allocates a percentage to support students with financial difficulties

  • Tier 2 shows your generosity to the teacher

  • Tier 3 is the bare minimum to make the teaching happen
