Un experiential exploration to merge creativity, healing, and spirituality by Daria Faïn
Mission:
This comprehensive study program covers multiple interdependent aspects of health, spirituality, and creativity, providing students with a well-rounded education.
My long-term research is inspired by an endless curiosity about the human experience as a means of creating performances, which led me to become an Alexander teacher and a never-ending student of Tao and Tibetan Buddhism.
The program is conceived with different modules focusing on complementary aspects of being.
The seeker of happiness is within us, and strength and fluidity in the body support a mind at rest and vis versa. The program is a journey to unify mind and body as we experience the dynamics of our emotions and psyche within spaciousness in the creative impetus of the art of life.
The program is addressed to all levels of experience.
It is designed to be taken one module at a time, as a combination of modules, or as the program as a whole.
The program will officially begin in January. I will offer a series of teachings from October through December for people who want to try classes.
Registration below in the calendar.
No one will be rejected for lack of funds. If you have financial difficulties, please get in touch with admin@dariafain.net.

The all-possible leads to a vision of oneness
Laotzi, from Tao Te Ching
Meditation is essential for staying aware but undistracted by the dynamics of our life and surroundings.
These three morning sessions offer two complementary approaches to meditation: one focuses on unifying breath, mind, and body, and the other is on being in meditation without meditating. Both are good foundations for establishing a sound daily meditation practice.
Day 1:
9 breaths clearing the three central channels to balance masculine Yang and feminine Yin energy, find a sense of equanimity.
The "16 Buddha's Breath" refers to a set of 16 mindful breathing exercises, a core meditation practice based on the Buddha's teachings, taught by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. This meditation helps to use the breath as a carrier of awareness.
Day 2:
Reviewing Day 1 and introducing of Open Awareness contemplation.
Open Awareness is a contemplation about resting our mind-heart, letting what arises be, like sediments settling on their own in a glass of water or the change of the weather within the unchanging vastness of the sky.
This contemplation takes us off the cushion and away from reference points. Instructions are readings from Taoist and Buddhist texts.
Day 3:
Reviewing Days 1 and 2, and responding to questions.
情 Qing EMOTIONS
April 27th, 10 AM-3 PM in-person and online
LOCATION: 115 Wooster St Soho, Buzz Dance Studio, 2nd fl L, NYC
How and why are emotions triggered?
And how can we use them as a force of transformation?
The Chinese character for emotions has two parts: the heart is on the left, and on the right is the green and blue/color of life. It gives the image of movement as a surging force. Emotions express themselves through the dynamic of our constitution and our environment. In this workshop, we will look at emotions as a form of light that colors us and moves within and without us. We will observe how emotions reside within the essences of the zang/organs and manifest as expressions in being. The process engages internal qigong practice and individual intuitive exploration based on the Chinese 5-Element Theory in what Daria called Contemplative Action.
